At 2010 Expoagro with Mr. Agustín Arroyo

Based on all I have expressed here, you may surely notice that one of my personal goals has always been the search for excellence. Likewise, when we grow up and understand the role we must play in life, we feel satisfied by sharing with our followers and successors the technical knowledge and life experience we could learn.
Firstly, I cooperated with the Escuela de Jurados Angus (School of Angus Jurors) created by Augusto Dellepiane Galli, currently operating with the cooperation of Luis María Firpo.
I have recently emphasized this multiplying aspect of my activity even more. By trying to achieve such a goal, we have participated in several Expoagro (by being locals) and in Agroactiva 2010, where we took animals to present some technical subjects, give explanatory talks and meet visitors.

For the last few years, I have been teaching 5th year Veterinary students at the UBA and the UNLP. I show them the video “Selection by Functional Capacity”, which contains the Jan Bonsma’s theory. Afterwards, during a visit to Casamú, I explain them the production management of the stock farm and its selection systems, performing practices with animals and premises and widely discussing each subject.

I similarly proceed with the two advanced courses with farming specialization of the Sociedad Rural Argentina (Argentine Rural Society) given by Mr. Diego Alcorta and Alejandro Cariola. I give the students two classes to know both theoretically and practically everything related to the production of a stock farm and its bases.
Likewise, I usually propose an “open gates” day which may coincides with any of the auctions.

Three years ago, one of the last meetings was essentially a practical training since I requested people to select the replacement sires of such year. I had done it before. To such effect, I invited Ignacio Corti Maderna (j) to visually order the sires already pre-selected by the genetic profile requested for Casamú. Each of the participants gave their grounded opinions, but I made the final decision about the sire to be selected. The attendance was a mix of breeders, Breedplan members and veterinaries, and it was very successful.
We prepared a similar event almost exclusively for the Grupo Breedplan Angus Argentino, aimed to discuss the Pampa Index and the sires selection.
In another opportunity, before the especial auction of breeding cows in April 2009, Mr. Martín Vergara explained in detail the Pampa Index, what was brilliantly included in a video available in our web site. I reserved for me the presentation of the foundation stock genetic trends. It was a day with an excellent technical level due to the attendance of many farmers, veterinarians and breeders.
