The annual production of about 300 bulls and 200 breeding cows (we are still growing) is offered to the market mainly in two events.

The first one is the fall auction, on the last Wednesday of May. In this auction, we offer all the bulls born two years ago during the fall, with about 26 months. If the amount is poor, we add some bulls born in the following spring, with 22 months.

Regarding the bred cows, we offer all the cows that were not aimed for replacement, born during fall and other similar cows born during spring but before September 15. The breeding are done with the same bulls used for the replacement of the foundation stock which will take place during the spring. The offer is about 90 males and 100 females, all purebred.

Fixed auction facilities.

The second occasion to get Casamú’s genetics is the spring auction, on the first Wednesday of September or the last Wednesday of August, as convenient. In this auction, we offer a selection of spring births with two-year-old animals. It is complemented by bred heifers born after September 16 with calving in February and March. This auction is composed by more than 100 males and 80 bred cows, all purebred and some more pure-by-crossing.
We have recently added a third annual auction, on the first Wednesday of October. In this auction, we exclusively offer bulls ready to breed heifers, with a very high demand.

Since we were located in Los Cardales, we carry out the auctions at the stock farm. Besides saving freight costs and the inconvenience suffered in the way to the possible sale premises, we give buyers the opportunity to know the production premises, and during the trip to the sale locations, they are may observe by the roadside several cattle categories.
The premises are next to the chutes, making easy to pen the cattle for that day with some extra personnel, although we mostly work with fixed personnel and relatives. Just simple and efficient.
I still personally perform with great pleasure the “grooming” of all the animals on sale; it is something I find difficult to delegate. With this, I try to highlight the features of each animal with an aesthetic and functional sense. I really enjoy the finished work I have initiated three ago when I assign the breeding to its mother, before offer them to the market.

We hire a tent and offer people lunch “as they deserve”.
We personally organize the entire auction, as a family SME, with uncountable duties to get the results we desire. I’m going to mention the most significant.
Ana, my wife, efficiently administers the auction as well as all the operation of Casamú SA. Candelaria S. plans in detail the trading aspects and is in charge of the invoicing, the mailing and the main relationship with the customers. Roberto Fattorini (a.k.a. Pancho), married to Paula S., is the main responsible for the relationship with customers during the day of the auction, given his natural charm and ability to get on well with people. Soledad S. and Anita Droller de S. register buyers’ data for invoicing purposes. My younger daughters, Joaquina and Damasia, spread their charm and cooperate with everything they can. Juan Bayá Casal, married to Soledad, is the efficient sound technician and presenter of the TV advertisements, besides helping with the data registration for invoicing purposes and other things. My son Juan is mentioned in the last place to better point out his excellent graphic work with the sale brochures, the advertising and the web site support, which is for many people a constant tool for queries. Finally, Juan and Pancho are responsible for loading the livestock, which we have trusted on Trasgan SRL for years.
For the buyers’ convenience, several years ago we commenced to absorb the sale costs and give free freight, recently with some limitations.

Gervasio and Fernando Sáenz Valiente auctioning	14th Spring Auction with Marcos Achával

For such reason, we have hired the auctioneer. We have performed some auctions with Marcos Achával, a renowned professional. Lately, Gervasio Sáenz Valiente acts as auctioneer, sometimes backed by his brother Fernando, both highly qualified and with a great charm.
The remaining males are privately sold at the stock farm. The buyer is given a list of the offered bulls with all the genetic information and the price I considered fair pursuant to merit and market value. In this way, the buyers take the livestock lot or the animal pursuant to their preference and investment possibilities, like at a supermarket.
The buyers of Casamú’s genetics come from the provinces of Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos, Corrientes, Santa Fe, Córdoba, La Pampa, San Luis and recently also from Mendoza.
